Voncille Calcote Benoit, 88 of Monticello, MS passed away Friday, May 31, 2024 at her residence in Monticello, MS. She was born Friday, May 29, 1936 in Lawrence County, Mississippi.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 03, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church in Monticello, Mississippi.

Her family was her greatest joy.  She enjoyed working puzzles, gardening, making floral arrangements, antiquing and especially chatting with her customers.  She was a down home culinary wizard and enjoyed feeding the mouths and souls of so many.  She was an avid volunteer for animals in need.   She always found time to take care of those that couldn't take care of themselves.

She was preceded in death by her son, Reed Benoit;  father, Barney Hugh Calcote;  mother, Donnis Marie King Calcote;  brothers, Frank Calcote, Richard Calcote, Robert Calcote, Charles Jerry Calcote and Bernes Glen Calcote;  sisters, Mildred Calcote Ballard, Sarah Calcote King and Joe Ann Calcote Ledet.

Survivors include her husband, Earl Benoit of Monticello, MS;  sons, Joey Carney, Eric Carney (Monica);  brother, Barney Calcote;  sisters, Sue Calcote Armstrong, Shirley Jean Calcote Pitre;  grandson, Joshua Carney;  granddaughter, Leah King of Gulfport, MS;  great granddaughters, Jolie King and Charlotte Eden.
