Mr. Toxie Higdon Ballard, 78 of Monticello, MS passed away on March 27, 2019 at his residence in Monticello, MS. Higdon was born February 10, 1941 in Monticello, MS to Toxie and Cornelia Lambert Ballard.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 29, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello and continuing Saturday, March 30, 2019 from 9:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Monticello, with graveside services following in New Hope Cemetery. Bro. Dale Authement and Bro. Kevin Crozier will officiate the services, with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Higdon retired from the Noble Drilling after 30 years of service. He loved spending time doing wood work. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Martha Lou Johnson Ballard of Monticello, son Chad Ballard and wife Carol Ann of West Monroe, LA, daughter Renea Howell and husband Brad of Byram, MS, son Jason and wife Katie of Longview, TX; six grandchildren Joy Ballard, Evan Howell, Grace Ballard, Maxx Frick, Alex Howell and Emi Ballard; one brother VW Ballard; one sister Modena Wilson both of Monticello, MS; one sister-in-law Betty Lou Ballard of Jayess, MS.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Donnie Dean Ballard and brother Carey Ballard.
