Sylvith E. Fortenberry, 83, of Silver Creek, Mississippi passed away on February 21, 2023 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. Sylvith was born September, 10, 1939 in Sontag to Rankin and Floy Evans.

A visitation will be held at Calvary Baptist Church (Silver Creek) from 1:00 PM until funeral services begin at 2:00 PM, on Saturday, February 25. Graveside services will follow in the Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

A devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church, Silver Creek, Sylvith's greatest joys were found in her family, friends, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved fishing, camping, and the outdoors. She and Raymond traveled after his retirement, visiting over 40 states.

She is survived by her children; Ray Fortenberry (Beverly) of Silver Creek, Phillip Fortenberry (Lori Ann) of Hazlehurst, Becky Jennings (Andy) of Portland, Tennessee and Angelia Sanders of Silver Creek; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.

Sylvith was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 54 years, Raymond Fortenberry; one sister, Evelyn Tucker; and a brother, Jim Evans.
