Ms. Sylvia Mae Deare Givens, 81, of Monticello, Mississippi passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at her residence in Monticello, MS. Sylvia was born January 31, 1941 in Lawrence County Mississippi to Bonnie Lee and Hautie Davis Deare.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 23, 2022 from 10:00 AM until funeral services at 12:00 AM at Bethel Baptist Church in Monticello, MS. Graveside services will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Monticello. Bro. John Grimes and Bro. Michael Smith will officiate the services with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Sylvia enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She retired from Kellwood Manufacturing as a seamstress. Sylvia loved to crochet and raise flowers in her yard. She loved to share God with everyone and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church for many years.

Sylvia is survived by daughters, Jeane Foerste (Jim), Donna Bailey (Kenneth), Debbie Givens Brister and Stacey Brooks (Dennis), numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents; husband Luther Thomas (L.T.) Givens; son Thomas M. (Buddy) Givens, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
