Obituary

Shirley Ann Lambert Farnham, 65 of Sontag, Lawrence County, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at the Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She was born on December 2, 1960 in Monticello to Pauline (Newsom) and Ray Lambert.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Shiloh Baptist Church located at 583 Sontag Nola Rd. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 09, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Shiloh Baptist Church in Sontag, MS. Burial will follow in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Sontag, MS. Bro. Tom Belcher and Bro. Andy Fullington will officiate. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 601-587-2573

Shirley grew up near Wanilla, Mississippi and attended school in Monticello, graduating in 1978. She also attended Copiah-Lincoln Jr. College, graduating from the LPN program.

She came to know her Lord and Savior as a young girl while attending Wanilla Baptist Church where she was a member until after her marriage.

She worked in nursing homes in Monticello and Brookhaven for 40 years, retiring due to health problems at 62. Her time nursing was a ministry to her, helping the patients and she used special care while performing wound care for the bed-bound and diabetic patients.

Shirley loved her children, and grandchildren as well as her flowers, working in the yard, camping, and shopping for bargains and gifts for family and friends. She was a part of a Medical-Dental Missions trip to Honduras and other mission efforts with Shiloh church.

After a short courtship, she and Wilson Farnham Jr. were married on August 31, 1979, living in Monticello for a time before settling in Sontag, where they later joined and served at Shiloh Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Wilson Farnham Jr.; her children; Leigh Ann (Paul) Bland of Monticello, and Samuel Joseph (Jessica) Farnham of Sontag. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Plez, Kallie, Nicolas, and Emily Bland; and Amelia and Audrey Farnham.

She was preceded by her parents; Pauline Newsom, and Ray lambert and one sister, Patsy Jones.

Shirley is also survived by sisters: Judy (Fleet) Smith, Sherry (Wayne) Smith, Patti Purser, and Rita (Freddy) Gorenflo.
