Shelby Paul Smith, 84, was called home from this life on August 20, 2021 from a long illness. He was surrounded by all of his family. Mr. Shelby was born September 22, 1936 to JB and Wisie Smith in Nola, Mississippi.

A visitation will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church on Saturday, August 21 from 5:30 – 9:00 in the evening, with funeral services following at the church on Sunday at 2:00 in the afternoon. A graveside service will be held in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.

He served his country well as a member of the United States Army. He was an employee of Commercial Credit and Georgia Pacific. Shelby loved God's outdoors. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener.

Surviving Mr. Smith are his wife of 62 years, Gladys Smith; his children, Donna Martin (Wilburn) of Sontag, Darlene Dubois (Skip) of White Oak, MS, and Dewayne Smith (Cindy) of Sontag. He leaves grandchildren – Dustin Martin (Aleshia), Lance Martin, Bridget Thompson (Chris), Stacy Birdwell (James), Emily Lambert (Dennis), Justin Harrington (Anna), and Natalie Case (Jake) – and great-grandchildren – Lane Thompson (Maddy), Brett Thompson, Shelbee Clay Martin, Maren Martin, Waylon Martin, Kenzie Ross, Jack Lambert, Emma Lambert, Lucy Lambert, Kinley Birdwell, Karley Birdwell, Fallon Westerfield (Curtis), Kash Case, Lyda Ann Case, and Ava and Allie Harrington (coming in September).
He is survived by two great-great grandchildren Bailey Thompson and Lindsey Westerfield.
Survivors also include: his brother, Kenneth Smith of Denham Springs, LA, and two sisters; Marilyn Douglas of Brookhaven, MS, and Marie Holmes (Billy) of Brandon, MS.
