Ruby Lee King went home to be with the Lord December 7, 2015 at the age of 87. A celebration service of her life will be held at New Hope Baptist Church in Monticello, MS on Wednesday, December 9 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation at the church from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and a brief graveside service afterward at the church.
Ruby was born in Lawrence County, Mississippi on August 17, 1928. She lived a long and blessed life in Monticello. Her faith in the Lord Jesus and the love for her family brought her much joy and happiness. She worked as a supervisor for the Kellwood Corporation in Monticello for 27 years.
She was preceded by her parents, John Allen King and Alice Jordan King, her husband, Leroy King, and her beloved son, Dale King, her brothers Delton Ray King, D.H. King, J.S. King, John Paul King, and her sisters Marie Calcote, Ruth Griffith, and Ethyl Hill. She is survived by her grandchildren, Daniel Zachary King of Ridgeland and Jordan King Sutton (Josh), her great-grandchildren, Kylie and Luke Sutton of Brandon, and her daughter-in-law, Grace Hopkins (Ray) of Ridgeland. She is also survived by her brother, Curtis King and her sister, Gladys Neal, as well as many nephews and nieces.
She was a wonderful, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, and a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church. "Praise to the Lord for He is good; His love endures forever." (Psalm 136)
