Ruby Mae King, 88 of Monticello, MS passed away Friday, October 10, 2025 at Lawrence County Hospital in Monticello, Mississippi. She was born Tuesday, December 22, 1936 in , Louisiana.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Wilson Funeral Home located at 904 W. Thomas E. Jolly Drive, Monticello, MS. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello, MS. Burial will follow in Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery in Monticello, Mississippi. Bro. Ruby created a warm and welcoming home. She took in every stray that came her way. She was a beloved mother, aunt, sister, and nanny. She felt at home in every kitchen and she loved on others by feeding them. You could often find her tending her "garden" even though it may only be cucumbers growing around her rosebushes. Ruby was a devoted wife to John Paul and loved her pride and joy, Roger, more than anything. She loved spending precious time with "her girls" Kendra and Hannah. She was always playing pranks and telling jokes with her great-grandkids. They kept her young and she helped them get into trouble. She was comforted and cared for by her daughter in law Donna and her niece Joann. The family thanks the nursing staff of Lawrence County Hospital for their wonderful care and compassion. Her family meant everything to her and they will cherish her memories and humor.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul King;  infant son;  father, Charlie Beard;  mother, Loula Broussard Beard;  brothers, C.D. Beard and Jimmy Beard;  sisters, Pud Cannon, Peaches Beard, Milt Brown and Sharon Morace;  great grandchild, Owen McKinney;  sister-in-law, Virginia Speights.

Survivors include her son, Roger King (Donna);  sister, Mary Gass; grandchildren, Kendra King Johnson (TJ) and Hannah King McKinney (Aaron);  great grandchildren, Tallulah Johnson, Penelope Johnson, Jonah McKinney, Avery McKinney, Luke Roger McKinney and Matthew McKinney; and a host of nieces and nephews.
