Rose Mary Bergeron, 73 of Monticello, MS passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at the Lawrence County Nursing Center in Monticello, MS. She was born Wednesday, November 29, 1950 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM at Shiloh Baptist Church in 583 Sontag Nola Road, Sontag, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Shiloh Baptist Church in Sontag, Mississippi. Burial will follow in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Sontag, MS. Bro. Jimmy Smith will officiate. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She was the daughter of a little Italian lady and a Spanish father. She was married to a Frenchman so she learned to cook many different dishes. She was a seamstress and made many Mardi Gras ballgowns when she lived in Louisiana. She also sewed many wardrobe pieces for her family and friends. She loved to crochet. At Christmas time, she loved to bake cookies with her kids and grandkids. Rose loved her Lord and loved to do her devotionals every morning. She was also loved to fish with her late husband, Lloyd, and especially in Louisiana since she said, "The fish are bigger there." Her favorite TV show was Golden Girls. Rose also loved passing on knowledge and traditions.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Bergeron, Sr.; son, Lloyd Bergeron, Jr.; father, George Ramirez; mother, Josephine Capitano Ramirez.
Survivors include her daughter, Angela Bergeron Buchanan (Andy) of Monticello, MS; sons, James Bergeron (Paula) and Bryan Bergeron (Emily); Honorary children, Jenny Capitano and Frank Capitano; brothers, Danny Ramirez of Jonesboro, LA and Joseph Ramirez of Baton Rouge, LA; sisters, Shirley Dupre (David) of Houma, LA, Frances Patton (Cliff) of Houma, LA and Mary Ramirez of the Philippines; ten grandchildren, Katherine Odom, Reeno Bergeron, Tony Buchanan (Amber), C.J. Bergeron (Cheyenne), Katelyn Martin (Chanest), Chris Bergeron, Timothy Bergeron, Nathaniel Waites, Matt Hoeniges, Charles Wilkerson. She had 7 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be James Bergeron, Tony Buchanan, C.J. Bergeron, Chris Bergeron, Timothy Bergeron, Arthur Valverde.
Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Capitano, Andy Buchanan, Charles Wilkerson, and Patrick Bergeron.
Special music will be performed by Bro. Philip Alford.
