Rev. Robert L. Dunn Sr., 86 was called home on December 8, 2016, at Lawrence County Hospital in Monticello, MS. Bro. Robert was born February 16, 1930, in Brookhaven, MS, to Dours and Maude Lee Dunn.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016, from 5 PM until 8 PM at Carmel Baptist Church in Monticello and continuing Sunday, December 11, 2016, from 10 AM until the time of the service at 3:30 PM. The graveside will follow at Carmel Cemetery. His sons will be officiating the service. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Bro. Robert pastored churches in Alabama and Mississippi for more than 60 years. Heaven alone will reveal the impact of his ministry. He was a faithful soldier of the cross with a passionate love for people.
Surviving Bro. Robert are his sons R. Leon Dunn Jr. and wife Karen of Hammond, LA; Dennis E. Dunn and wife Darlene of Saraland, AL; David E. Dunn of Monticello, MS, Mark E. Dunn and wife Susan of Jackson, AL, daughter, Robyn Dunn Payment of Brandon, MS; sister, Mozelle Williamson of Monticello, MS; grandchildren, Rob, Chris, Amanda, Tracie, Samuel, Joshua, Tiffanie, Brittnie, Whittnie, Matt and Mackenzie; 7 great grandchildren and a host of family members and friends.
Preceding him in death were his wife of sixty five years Aline Hedgepeth Dunn, parents, Dours and Maude Lee Hudnall Dunn, brothers, Dours Dunn, Willie Dunn; sisters, Lillie Mae Delaughter, Zelma Lee Thurman, Helen Cobb and Merle Hill .
Pallbearers are Rob Dunn, Chris Dunn, Samuel Dunn, Joshua Dunn, Matt Payment, Brandon Strickland, Brandon Chancellor and Kenneth Harbuck.
