Mr. Richard Davis, 78, of Ruth, Mississippi passed away on November 28, 2022 at his home. He was born to Marvin and Eula Mae Davis on May 7, 1944 in Ruth, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held at Ruth Baptist Church from 1:00 PM until funeral services at 2:00 PM, on Wednesday, November 30. Graveside services will follow in Ruth Cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Richard loved the outdoors fishing and hunting. He was well known for raising and training rabbit and squirrel dogs, but the time he enjoyed most was spent with family.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Syble Davis; six children, Angie Williams, Jeff Davis (Bridget), Wanda Bowman (Bob), Darlene Smith (Jeff), Kevin Davis (Amanda), and Krisha Barnes (Michael); 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind two brothers; J.M. Davis and Ray Davis; along with his brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Cynthia Lynn Davis; three brothers, James Earl, Billy Gene, and Alcus Jerald Davis; two sisters, Oni Faye Smith and Annie Mae Gunnell; his father and mother-in-law, Jewel Dean and Frances Dunaway; two brothers-in-law, Jewel Ray and Daryel Dunaway; and a son-in-law, Danny Williams.
