Murl Lambert Mahaffey, 94, was called home from this life on October 23, 2017, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS.

Murl was born on March 7, 1923 in Divide, MS to Albert E. and Lillie E. Calhoun Lambert.
When Murl wasn't outside tending to her flowers and watching the birds and other wildlife, she loved baking pecan pies, sweet potato pies and Christmas ham. She also enjoyed helping her brother tend to his vegetable garden and spending time with her family.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 from 5 PM until 9 PM at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello, MS and continuing on Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 9 AM until service time at 11 AM with graveside services following at Divide Methodist Protestant Church Cemetery in Monticello, MS. Rev. Kenny Southerland will officiate the services with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Murl is preceded in death by her parent; husband Durward Mahaffey; brothers Buford G. Lambert, A.E. Lambert, Jr.; sisters Maurice Renfroe, Melva Faye Lambert and Pauline Rials.
Surviving Murl are her two brothers, S.C. Lambert (Dot) of Jayess, MS and Don Lambert also of Jayess, MS; numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews as well as great-great nieces and nephews.
