Mavis Woodall Peavey, 73, of Denham Springs, Louisiana passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Mavis was born May 14, 1951 in McComb, Mississippi to J.C. and Effie Mae Freeman Woodall.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 from 10:00 AM until funeral services at 12:00 PM at Bethel Baptist Church in Monticello, MS, with graveside services following in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Monticello, MS Rev. Diane Woodall will officiate the services with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mavis retired from Lawrence County Schools as Cafeteria Manager. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting and spending time with her family. Before working in the school system, she was a cosmetologist.

Mavis is survived by, her daughter, Cristie Lofton (Darron) of Monticello, MS; step-daughter, Wendi Shoultz of Louisiana; 2 sisters Marie Lacoste of Kiln, Mississippi, Margie Martin of Greenwell Springs, Louisiana; 1 brother Harold Woodall (Diane) of Summit, Mississippi; 3 grandchildren, Tyler Shoultz(Lauren) , Blake Berry( Sarah), Brandy Berry(Bradley).

Mavis was preceded in death by her parents; husband Joe Peavey, daughter, Tina Louise Oliver, brother Clifton Woodall and 3 great-grandchildren.
