Obituary

Mrs. Mary Sue Ard Cothern, 83, of Jayess, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 25th, at Jeff Davis Extended Care Center in Prentiss, Mississippi.

Born on June 10, 1943, to Walter and Norma Powell Ard, Mary lived a life rooted in faith, family, and love. She was a devoted wife and mother whose greatest joys were found in simple, precious moments spent with those she loved most.

A woman of faith, Mary cherished reading her Bible and found comfort and strength in God’s word. As a member of Providence Baptist Church, her faith was an important part of her life. Her love for her children and grandchildren was immeasurable, and the time she spent with them created treasured memories that will live on in the hearts of her family.

Mary will be remembered for the love she shared, the faith she held dear and the special place she made in the lives of those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of devotion, kindness and family love that will never be forgotten.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Tammy Ladd (Clay) of Jayess; sons, Jeff Cothern (Darleen) of Brandon, Keith Cothern (Debra) of Jayess, and Shannon Cothern (Angela) of Jayess; twin sister, Sue Alexaner; grandchildren, Clay Ladd, Mark Ladd, Taylor Cothern Ellis (Joe Joe), Zane Cothern (Gabby), Ty Cothern (Ryen), Delton Cothern, Briana Sasser (John), Abbie Little (Peyton); and great-grandchildren, Luke Ellis, John Edward Sasser, Grady Sasser, and Maggie Rose Sasser.
