Ms. Margie Douglas, 96, of Sontag, MS passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at her home with her son and daughter-in-law by her side in Sontag, MS. Margie was born November 25, 1925, in Sicily Island, Louisiana to Eldred and Ida Conn Bird.

Visitation will be held on Saturday July 9, 2022 from 9:30 AM until service time at 11:00 AM at Shiloh Baptist Church in Sontag with graveside services following in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Richard Green and Bro. Jimmy Smith will officiate the services with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Margie retired from the Lincoln Lawrence Regional Library after 30 plus years. She volunteered for the C.P.C. for 13 years, she was a longtime member of Shiloh Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and served on many committees. She enjoyed spending time with her family and researching genealogy. Margie will be missed by everyone.

Margie is survived by her son; Ian Douglas (Kim) of Sontag, MS; her grandsons, Kris Douglas (Michelle) of Brookhaven, MS, Troy Douglas (Ashley) also of Brookhaven, Andi Douglas (Erin) of Bogue Chitto, MS; step-grandsons, Spencer Conley (Ashley) and Chris Conley (Bailey) of Phoenix, AZ; step-grandaughter, Amanda Burrage (Joe) of Asheville, NC; brother, Paul Bird (Margie) of Meridian, MS; sisters-in-law, Betty Wansley Bird of Laurel, MS, Sarah Douglas of Sontag, and Anna Crane of Brookhaven, MS. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Margie was proceeded in death by her parents, husband Buddy Douglas, son Thurman Douglas, one brother and 4 sisters.
