Funeral services for Margaret Davis Garrett will be on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello, MS at 12:00 PM with burial to follow in the Monticello United Methodist Cemetery in Monticello, MS. Bro. Richard Green will be officiating the services with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Wilson Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
Mrs. Garrett, 88, of Silver Creek, MS, passed from this life on Monday, September 24, 2018, at her residence. She was born on April 30, 1930 in Lawrence County, MS, to Charlie Preston Davis (Prep) and Lucille Reid Davis. She retired after 60 plus years as a business owner. During her working years she owned and operated a Retail Dress Shop, Cannon House Restaurant, Colton House and Henris Restaurants. Margaret was very well known for her Food Service and Catering. She attended Greenbrier Cooking School in West Virginia. A very loving and caring Wife, Daughter, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt and Friend is how many will remember her. Margaret enjoyed reading, traveling all over, art, painting, her dogs Brinkley and Bess, decorating, fashion and giving to others. She will be missed by so many.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, George B. Garrett; sister, Charlene Davis Pierce; and brother, Jimmy Ray Davis.
Survivors are her sons, Phillip Garrett and wife Tammy of Mobile, AL, Steve Garrett and wife Carmen of Silver Creek, MS, Chuck Garrett and wife Sherri of Gulf Shores AL; daughters, LuAnn Garrett Hutchinson of Silver Creek, MS, Susie Garrett Edelen and husband Don of Picayune, MS, Julie Garrett Barnes and husband Jason of Silver Creek, MS; grandchildren, 13); great grandchildren, 17; brothers, Charles Davis and wife Pat of Benton, MS, Emmett Reid Davis and late wife Brenda of Flowood, MS; sister, Fannie Davis Mullins Speights and late husband Billy Mullins, Belford Speights and a host of family and friends.
