Luther Dean Hyde, 83, was called home from this life on Saturday, October 31, 2015, at his residence in Monticello, MS. Mr. Hyde was born July 16, 1932 in Monticello, MS to Henry Charles and Isabel King Hyde.
Visitation will be on Sunday, November 1, 2015, at Wilson Funeral Home from 5:00 until 9:00 PM, and continuing at New Hope Baptist Church from 9:00AM until time of service at 11:00AM. Funeral Services will be Monday, November 2, 2015 at New Hope Baptist Church with Dr. Joey Faulk officiating the services. The graveside service will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Hyde loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was a retired truck driver with Walmart. He had many friends and was a joy to all who knew him. He was known for his quick wit and kind humor. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, where he enjoyed his Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his children Vicky Hyde of Monticello, Sherry Hyde Thames and husband Tony of Monticello and Cindy Hyde-Smith and husband Michael of Brookhaven. Grandchildren: Keisha Cox, Brittney Thurman, Luke Thames, Jake Thames and Anna-Michael Smith. Two Great grandsons: Devin Thurman and Andrew Thurman. Brother: Jerry Hyde of Monticello, Sisters: Betty Lou Ballard of Jayess and Judy Smith of Monticello.
He was preceded in death by his parents Henry Charles Hyde and Isabel King Hyde. Brothers: Roy, Duel, Charlie and Billy Hyde. Sisters: Dorothy Carr and Lula Hedgepeth.
Pallbearers: Luke Thames, Jake Thames, Revis Ballard, Joey Smith, Heath Sistrunk, Ronnie Hedgepeth, Danny Hedgepeth and Glenn Hyde.
