Ms. Louise H. Price, 88, of Jayess, MS passed away on Tuesday, January 16th, 2024 at the Lawrence County Nursing Center in Monticello, MS. Louise was born April 1, 1935 in Jayess, MS to Hoover J. and Martha Peavy Hammond.

Visitation will be held at Forest Grove Methodist Protestant Church on Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Funeral services will be on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Forest Grove Methodist Protestant Church in Jayess, MS. Graveside services will follow at Forest Grove Methodist Protestant Church Cemetery. Bro. Bobby Dawson will officiate the services with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Louise was a loving mother, a fantastic cook, a devout Christian, and a long-standing member of Forest Grove Church. She was a hard worker. It didn't matter what needed to be done she was always ready to help out. She was very talented, and made nearly 300 caps for the Cancer Center in Jackson, MS. Her crochet abilities were second to none. She crocheted for church events and nursing home staff and residents.

Ms. Price is survived by: her daughter, Martha E. Price of Jayess, MS; her son, Johnnie Price, Jr. (Melinda) of Oxford, MS; three grandchildren: Jeffrey Simmons of Apex, NC, Justin Simmons of Tupelo, MS, Johnnie Price III of Oxford, MS.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Plez Henry Hammond.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Forest Grove Methodist Protestant Church Special Project Funds (Steeple).
