Lester "Ron" McHenry, 71 was called home from this life on Sunday, September 25, 2016, at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans, LA. Ron was born December 30, 1944 in Pensacola Florida, to Kirby and Louise Campbell McHenry.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at New Life Church in Monticello, with funeral services on Friday, September 30, 2016 at 2:00 PM at New Life Church, graveside services will follow at Roberts Memorial Garden in Jayess, MS. Rev. Jay Thompson and Rev. Joseph Jackson will be officiating the services.
Ron was a retired minister and an entrepreneur of many businesses. He was a Veteran in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed cooking and spreading the gospel.
Survived by his wife of fifty three years, Gladys McHenry of Monticello; his sons Ronald W. McHenry of Monticello, Jerry L. McHenry of Jayess; daughters LaDonna Faye Hurst and husband Timothy of Fort Smith, AR, Christina Ann Vincent of Jayess; He has two brothers: his twin brother Howard Donald McHenry of Georgia, Horace Wayne McHenry and sister Sonja Louise Mannion; both from St. Louis, Missouri and many nieces and nephews.
Ron has eight grandchildren that were the light of his life. Merissa McHenry, Brandi Freeman (husband, Casey), Taylor Gaffney (husband, Jeremy), Stephanie Hurst, Jessica McHenry, Brittany Peavy (husband, Tanner) Shianne McHenry and Joe McHenry. He also has 4 great-grandchildren: McKenzi Pippins, Brayden Pippins, Cohan Peavy and Kaycen Gaffney.
Proceeding him in death were his parents, Kirby and Louise McHenry and his brother, Darrell McHenry.
