Obituary

Lee Roy (Bud) Renfroe, Jr., 96, of Jayess, MS passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Southwest Regional Medical Center in McComb, Mississippi. Mr. Renfroe was born November 2, 1927 in Jayess, Mississippi to Mattie Tullis Renfroe and Lee Roy Renfroe Sr.

Visitation will be held on January 24, 2024 from 5-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 12 PM January 25, 2024 at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello, MS. Bro. Wendell Davis will officiate.

Mr. Renfroe and his wife, Nina Holmes Renfroe, were married one month short of 77 years when she passed from this life in 2022.

Mr. Bud was a true Christian man who loved the Lord, and was a leader in his church, Unity Church of Christ.  Mr. Renfroe loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.

Mr. Renfroe was a Christian who taught many people the right way to live.  He also was a respected advisor and historian.

Mr. Renfroe is survived by his children; Wanda Renfroe of Monticello, and Ken Renfroe (Ginger) of Hattiesburg; three grandchildren, Brian Renfroe, Bret Carney (Mandie), and Elizabeth Bracey (Josh); five great-grandchildren, Chloe Carney, Brodie Carney, Ava Reid Bracey, Harper Bracey, and Kayte Bracey; as well as one brother, Larry Renfroe of Brookhaven; two sisters, Irene Davis of Monticello, Nell Shirley of Brandon; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Alice Renfroe and Charlene Graham, both of Jayess.

Mr. Renfroe was preceded in death by his beloved wife, his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
