Ms. Lavern Barnett McKinney, 92, of Jayess, Mississippi passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021. She was born June 5, 1928, to Herman and Lois Alexander Barnett.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 26, 2021 from 10:30AM until service time at 12:00 PM  at Calvary Pentecostal Church in Jayess, MS with graveside services following in the church cemetery. Rev. Ray Bowling will officiate the services with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Ms. McKinney is survived by her son, Marlin Wallace (Margrit) of Madison, MS; four daughters; Dyann Harmount (John) and Alois Wolverton (Rodney), both of Raymond MS, Wanez Ballard of Jayess, and Deloris Adams of Shuqualak, MS, and one daughter-in-law, Angela Smith of Jayess. She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

Those preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Delton McKinney, and a son, Billy Wayne Smith. She is also preceded in death by two sisters – Nellie Ruth Brister and Ladean Neal – and one great-grandson, Chance Cooper.
