Obituary

Funeral services for L P "Pete" Nations will be on Sunday, March 15, 2020, at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello, MS at 2:00 PM with burial to follow in the Robert's Memorial Cemetery in Jayess, MS. Bro. David Maurice will be officiating the services with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Wilson Funeral Home, Saturday, March 14, 2020, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and to continue Sunday, March 15, 2020 from 9:00 AM until service time.

Mr. Nations, 88), of Jayess, MS, passed from this life on March 10, 2020, at King Daughters Hospital in Brookhaven, MS.  He was born on December 14, 1931 in Ruth, MS, to Julius and Ruvie Lee Kyzar Nations.

Mr. Pete retired from United States Air Force in 1968 after 21 years of service.  In the 1970's Mr. Nations worked and managed the Monticello Wood Yard, later to retire and enjoy the outdoors.  He Loved being outside with nature. He will be missed by many.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife Joyce Nona Laflam Nations; son, Leonard Paul Nations; sisters, Bonnie, Norma and Patsy; brother, J.T. Nations: grandson, Brice McRaney.

Survivors are his companion of 14 years, Patricia Shaw; sons, Dennis Nations and wife Jo, Robert Nations and wife Marilyn; daughters, Denise Kinney, Brenda Miller and husband Curtiss, Hope Warden and husband Fred and Diane McLemore and husband Steve; sixteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
