Obituary

Kimble Wallace, 97 of Monticello was called home from this life on November 23, 2017, at Lawrence County Hospital in Monticello. Kimble was born May 5, 1920 in Lincoln County, MS to Laney and Lizzie Creel Wallace.
Visitation will be held on Saturday November 25, 2017 from 5 PM until 8 PM at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello and continuing Sunday November 26, 2017 until service time at 2 PM at Wilson Funeral Home with graveside services following in Divide Methodist Protestant Church Cemetery. Bro. Carlos Dawson and Bro. Bobby Lambert will officiate the services, with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Kimble served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was retired from Georgia Pacific. He was an avid gardener, a wonderful father and grandfather. To his grandchildren he could walk on water.
Surviving Kimble are his sons Kimble Wallace Jr. (Kathy) of Monticello, Ronnie Wallace (Sherri) of Jayess, daughter; Shelia Smithie (Bobby) of Jayess, 5 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great-grandson. A devoted nephew Paul Wallace, friend and fellow chicken grower Lane Sistrunk, also friend and caregiver Charlie Morgan.
Preceding him in death were his parents, wife of 75 years Virgie Wallace, son; Hubert Wallace, daughter; Yvonne Wallace, great grand-son Dakota Wyland, 3 brothers and 6 sisters.
