Mr. Kenny Wayne Tanksley, 65 of Monticello, MS passed away on March 7, 2019 at Lawrence County Hospital in Monticello, MS. Kenny Wayne was born September 7, 1953 in Tylertown, MS to Wayne T. and Alteen King Tanksley.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 8, 2019 from 6 PM until 9 PM at New Hope Baptist Church in Monticello and continuing Saturday March 9, 2019, from 11 AM until service time at 2 PM at New Hope Baptist Church in Monticello with graveside services following in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Kevin Crozier will officiate the services, with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Kenny Wayne retired from the Mississippi Wildlife Fisheries and Parks as a conservation officer for over three decades. He loved spending time outdoors with his family and friends. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

He is survived by his wife Susan Tanksley of Monticello; mother Alteen Tanksley of Monticello; son Adam Tanksley (April) of Brookhaven; daughter Hope Rushing (Jimmy) of Jayess; sister Paulette Harrison (Wayne) of Jayess; seven grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father.
