OBITUARY
Judy Sharon Carr Holmes, 73 of Monticello, MS passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. She was born Saturday, March 29, 1952 in Monticello, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at New Life Church located at 1095 F.E. Sellers Hwy, Monticello, MS. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at 12:00 PM at New Life Church in Monticello, MS. Burial will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Monticello, Mississippi. Bro. Jay Thompson will officiate. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 601-587-2573
Nanny was a person that loved everyone at all times. She loved her Savior more than anything. Judy was the rock of the family as well as the center of the family. Judy was an excellent cook and put her love in everything she prepared or did. She always knew what to say and always had a smile on her face. She was known as Nanny to many and especially loved her grands and greats. You couldn't out-love her as she would love you more.
She was preceded in death by her father, Grady Tink Carr; mother, Ella Doris Cain Carr; brother, Robert Carr; sisters, Jacqueline Morgan, and Sarah White.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Oscar Holmes of Monticello, MS; daughters, Ondria Holmes Callender (Russell) and Kaci Holmes (Gordon); sister, Lisa Oliver (David); grandchildren, Mary Kathryn Thompson (Casey), Carter Hall and Carli Cain (Zach); great grandchildren, Izak Thompson, Cash Carter Hall and Meredith Cain.
Pallbearers will be Russell Callender, Gordon Von Hoene, Casey Thompson, Zach Cain, Carter Hall, Izak Thompson, David Oliver, and Ethan Hall.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Holmes, David Holmes, Mary Kathryn Thompson, Carli Cain, Cash Carter Hall, and Aaron Thompson.
