OBITUARY FOR JOSEPH HOLLIDEAN RUSSELL
Mr. Joseph Hollidean Russell, 85, was called home from this life on May, 31, 2015 at V.A. Hospital Nursing Home in Jackson, Mississippi. Mr. Russell was born June 2, 1929 to Mr. Buel Taylor and Josie Bernice Summers Russell.
Visitation will be at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello, MS on June 5, 2015 from 10:00am till 2:00pm. Funeral Service will be at 2:00pm at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. The graveside service will follow in Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery in Monticello, MS. Rev. Robert Dunn and Rev. Phillip Hemby will officiate the services. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Russell retired from the United States Army after 20 ½ years of service. He also retired from the Monticello Post Office as a clerk in 1992. Hollidean was a Shriner and member of the Monticello Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Russell is preceded in death by his parents, one son Joe Russell and one infant daughter, Marilyn, one brother Donnie Russell and one sister Lynda Russell.
Survivors are his wife Janice Branch Russell of Monticello; Daughter, Carolyn and husband Jeff Thames of Monticello, Grandchildren Jenna and Donny Stokes of Columbus MS; Russ and Jordan Thames of Flowood, MS and Trey Thames of Monticello. One sister Lyda Taylor of Skene, MS.
Pallbearers are Russ Thames, Trey Thames, Donny Stokes, Tony Russell, Alex Russell and Sam Stiglets.
