Mrs. Johnnie E. Smith Strong, 86 was called home from this life on Thursday May 19, 2016, at Lawrence County Hospital, Monticello, MS. Mrs. Johnnie was born January 27, 1930 in Monticello, MS to Mr. Johnny and Eva Smith Evans.
There will be a time of visitation from 5:00PM to 9:00PM, Friday May 20, 2016, at New Zion Baptist Church with the Service Saturday May 21 at 1:00 PM at New Zion Baptist Church. The graveside service will be held in New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Brother Jeff Davis will officiate the services.
Surviving Mrs. Strong are her five children Kathy Culpepper and husband Shelton of Bay Springs, MS; sons, Mike Smith and wife Kerri of Monticello, Dale Smith of Pattison, MS, Bobby Smith of Shivers, MS, Terry Hugh Strong and wife Kay of Oakvale, MS and a sister Reba Hammond and husband Ed of Hammond, LA . She also leaves behind four grandchildren and five Great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are parents Johnny and Eva Evans, Husband Vernon (Pete) Smith, Husband Hugh Vernon Strong, brother Osborne Evans and one grandchild Jason Strong.
