Mr. John Markette Reid, 85, of Jayess, Mississippi passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021 at Lawrence County Nursing Center in Monticello, Mississippi. John was born November 30, 1935, in Jayess, Mississippi to Elmo and Bertha Eaton Reid.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM At Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello, MS, with graveside services on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.  Bro. Larry Eickenloff will officiate the services with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mark was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was a kind-hearted man who enjoyed caring and providing for others, especially close friends and family. Mark enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Jayess, MS. Mark will be missed by everyone.

Mark is survived by his 5 children, Johnny and Sonia Reid of Jayess, MS, Cindy and Russell Sykes of Flora, MS, Ginger and Ken Renfroe of Oak Grove, MS, Jeff and Tina Reid of Monticello, MS and Jody and Jan Reid of Jayess, MS; brother, Jerry Reid of McComb, MS; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

Those preceding him in death were his parents, wife Merle Boyd Reid; son Jimmy Reid; granddaughter Kristina Reid and 1 sister Ramona Magee.
