Mr. John Douglas Lambert, 90, of Monticello, Mississippi passed away on Monday, June 7, 2021. Douglas was born November 10, 1930, to Elvis and Bertha Williamson Lambert.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 9 from 6 until 9 o'clock PM at New Hope Baptist Church. Visitation will resume at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 10, and continue until funeral services at 11:00 AM. A graveside service will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Lambert served his country as a Sargent in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He loved the Lord and served as a deacon at New Hope Baptist Church. One of his favorite hobbies was gardening and sharing the fruits of his labors with others in the community. His greatest joy was time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; he was also a loving husband and father.
Douglas is survived by one son Ricky Lambert and wife Brenda of Monticello; two daughters Sandra Simpson and husband Richard of Quitman, MS, and Debbie Beeson and husband Reece of Bogue Chitto, MS. He also leaves behind one brother, Bobby Joe Lambert and wife Shirley of Jayess, MS; and two sisters, Elnora Givens and husband L.H. of Monticello, and Kathleen Ashley of Brookhaven, MS, as well as seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Those preceding him in death were his parents and his wife of 66 years, Lola Faye King Lambert. He was also preceded by one brother, Elgin Lambert, and two sisters Reba Thompson and Judy Lane Lambert.
