Joey Harvey, Age 69, of Monticello, Mississippi, passed away on June 27, 2026, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Joey was born on January 23, 1957, in Tylertown, MS to his parents, Bennie Harvey and Vera Mae Thornhill.

Though his time with us was far too short, the love Joey gave and the lives he touched will remain forever. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, a loving grandfather, a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend whose kindness, strength, and unwavering support were the foundation of his family.

Joey had a way of making everyone feel welcome. Whether through his warm smile, quick wit, generous heart, or willingness to help anyone in need, he left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He found joy in the simple things—time with family, sharing stories, working hard, laughing with friends, and making memories that will be cherished forever.

Above all else, Joey loved his family. He was their protector, biggest supporter, and constant source of encouragement. His children will forever carry with them the lessons he taught, the love he gave so freely, and the example he set through his life.

Joey was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie Harvey and Vera Mae Thornhill; stepfather, Joe Sylvest; niece, Mandy Harvey; nephews, Cole Harvey and Spencer Harvey.

Joey is survived by his spouse of 44 years, Judy Harvey; sister, La Sheba Boren (); sons, Micheal Harvey, and Dale Mullins (Lauren); daughters, Misti Dean (Chase), Magen Lea (Dylan); son-in-law, Donnie Harvey; grandchildren, Madlynn, Victoria, Taylor, Haden (Lilly), Halle (Mitch), Tucker, Caroline, Kate, Cameron, Landon, Easton, and Cooper; great grandchildren, David, Walker; nephews, Wesley Belk, Jared Boren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
