Obituary

Joan Cox Dickson, 82, was called home from this life on Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at her residence in Monticello, MS. Mrs. Dickson was born November 14, 1933 in Monticello to James and Velma Cook Cox.
Visitation will be on Friday, November 27, 2015, at Bethel Baptist Church from 9 until 11 with funeral services Friday November 27, 2015 at 11 A.M. at Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery Bro. Michael Smith and Bro. Ted Bowlin will officiate the services. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Joan loved to read and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed going with her church to Mexico on mission trips throughout the years.
Survivors are her husband Lawrence Dickson of Monticello, children Larry Dickson of Meridian, MS, Scott Dickson and wife Ramona of Monticello. Brothers: Kedrick Cox of Monticello and Bobby Cox of Quitman, MS. Sisters: Sue Thames of North Carolina and Sandra Hedgepeth of Monticello.
Grandchildren: Sara Reynolds and husband Travis of Monticello, Clay Dickson of Monticello, Kate Smoke and Sy Williams of Baytown, TX. She had five great grandchildren.
Preceaded in death by her parents James and Velma Cox, Brother Jimmy Cox and daughter Cindy McNeill.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund 73 Bethel Road Monticello, MS 39654.
