Jimmy W. Whitley Sr., 78 of Monticello, MS passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023 at his residence in Mount Olive, Mississippi. He was born October 11, 1945 in Edwards, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on January 6, 2024 from 10:00 AM. Memorial services will be held at 11:00AM January 6, 2024 at New Life Church located at 1095 FE Sellers Hwy in Monticello. Brother Jay Thompson and Brother David Browder will officiate.

Jim loved baseball, hunting, Ole Miss Rebels, golf, and he adored family and friends. He loved his children dearly. He was a community man, and was well liked in the community. He owned his own tire business for 60 years. He pastored for the Church of God of Prophecy in Piave, Picayune, and McComb Mississippi. He loved God tremendously! Jim was the best daddy a person could ever ask for.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Whitley; son, David Whitley; father, Walter Whitley; mother, Estelle Whitley; and daughter-in-law, Lucretia Whitley.

Survivors include his son, Jimmy W Whitley, Jr. (Lucy, Deceased) of Monticello, MS; son, Michael Whitley (Lisa) of Monticello, MS; daughter, Tammy Whitley King (Mike) of Mount Olive, MS; and a daughter-in-law, Dona Whitley Marschke.  He is survived by 15 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great, great grandbabies.
