Mr. James Ashley Selman "Jimmy", 69, of Monticello, Mississippi passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Forest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Jimmy was born January 3, 1952, in Brookhaven, Mississippi to Eldon and Dorothy Selman.

Jimmy was a farmer of 51 years. He followed the footsteps of generations of Selman's before him. Jimmy enjoyed reading about farming, tractors, and all things related to agriculture. He was also vice chairperson of Lawrence County Farm Services Committee. He had a love for animals, especially dogs. Jimmy was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, and generous friend to anyone in need. He was a true southern gentleman.

Jimmy is survived by 1 son, Ashley Selman; daughter, Jane Belle Tullis; 2 step-children, son, Dylan Lea and daughter, Rachel Lea Jergins 1 brother, Bobby Selman; 1 sister, Sally Moss; 3 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews; and the mother of his children, Beth Selman.

Those preceding him in death were his parents and wife Tedra Hoskins Selman; nephew, Justin Smith and friend Marco Robertson.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Selman Farms Cemetery, 436 Old Highway 27 North Monticello, MS 39654. Kenneth Roberts will officiate the service.
