Obituary

Jewell "Jack" Ozell Smith, 89, was called home from this life on September 24, 2017, at the VA Center in Collins; MS. Jack was born November 19, 1927 in Lawrence County, MS to Kirby and Irene Gibson Smith.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday September 27, 2017 from 10 AM until service time at 2 PM at Shiloh Baptist Church in Sontag with graveside services following in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery, Sontag. Bro. Ed King will officiate the services, with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Jack served his country in the United States Marines; he was the founder of Sontag Hunting Club and had a deep love for hunting and fishing. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was one of the founders of the Sontag Water Association; he also served as president of the Lawrence County Farm Bureau.
Surviving Mr. Smith are his children; Linda Lambert of Sontag, Rickey Smith of Middletown, OH, Wayne Smith (Sherry) of Sontag. Nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death was his parents, wife of 56 years Adell Honea Smith; brother, Floyd Smith; two sisters, Ernestine Minton and Francis Easterling.
