Jewel Lambert Hammond, 86 was called home from this life on Friday, February 17, 2017, at her residence in Jayess, MS. Jewel was born August 28, 1930 in Lawrence County, MS to Claude and Maxine Kyzar Lambert.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 5 PM until 9 PM at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello, MS, with funeral services on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 3 PM with graveside services following in Tilton United Methodist Church Cemetery. Bro. David Heddon will officiate the services. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jewel was retired from Kellwood Manufacturing; she loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking for her family.

Surviving Jewel is her daughter: Sherron Jenkins and husband Hugh of Hazlehurst; grandchildren Brian Lambert, Tony Hammond and wife Jessica, Brad Lambert and wife Nancy, Trina Lambert, William "Benji" Hammond and wife Robin, Brittany Jenkins; sister Peggy Jordan of Denham Springs, LA. Twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchilren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Claude and Maxine Kyzar Lambert; husband Buford Elmoe Hammond; brothers J.P. and Clayton Lambert; sister Claudine Adams and daughter Gene Hammond Shamis.
