Ms. Jewan Kirkland, 69, of Monticello, Mississippi passed away on Monday, April 12, 2021 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven, Mississippi. Jewan was born January 6, 1952, in Tylertown, Mississippi to Amel and Willie Mae Hammond.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Sauls Valley Baptist Church in Monticello, with funeral services on Friday April 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM with graveside following in Sauls Valley Cemetery.  Bro. Lonnie Case will officiate the services with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Jewan was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a kind-hearted woman who enjoyed caring and providing for others, especially close friends and family. Jewan enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  She was a member of Sauls Valley Baptist Church in Monticello. Jewan will be missed by everyone.

Jewan is survived by her children, sons, Tyson Kirkland (Casey) of Brookhaven, MS, Wayne Kirkland (Tina) of Monticello, MS and daughter Tiffney Barnes of Monticello, MS; 8 grandchildren, Tyler Davis, Trey Kirkland, Maddux Kirkland, Alissa Barnes, Ava Kirkland, Jake Kirkland, Hadley Davis and Hudson Davis; 1 great-grandchild Haven White; one sister Peggy Harvey; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Those preceding her in death were her parents, husband Curtis Kirkland.
