Mr. Jerry Wayne Smithie, 72, of Jayess, Mississippi passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. Jerry Wayne was born July 13, 1948, in Walthall County Mississippi to Clyde and Rosie Belle Ballard Smithie.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 11 AM at Roberts Memorial Cemetery in Jayess, MS. Bro. Dale Authement and Bro. Jeffery Conn will officiate the services with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Jerry Wayne proudly served his country in the United States Army. He served as supervisor for Lawrence County District 3. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Jerry Wayne enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He was a member of Topeka Baptist Church in Jayess, MS. Jerry Wayne will be missed by everyone.

Jerry Wayne is survived by his wife Sharon Smithie of Jayess, MS; sons, Cody Joe Smithie (Katie) and Wayne Smithie both of Jayess, MS; sister, Peggy Cothern (Steve) of Jayess, MS; 3 grandchildren, Anna Belle Smithie, Jacob Eli Smithie and Charleigh Kate Smithie; numerous nieces and nephews.

Those preceding him in death were his parents.
