Jean Rose Caves was many things to all of us. She was Mama, Grandmaw, Great Grandmaw, Sister, Aunt and friend. She was "Everyone's Grandmaw" to her grandchildren and step-grandchildren and their friends, to her great-grandchildren and their friends and to all the children of Powells Grove Church.
She loved God and attended church faithfully until the last few weeks of her life when she was too weak to go. She loved her Pastor and his wife, Bro. Ronnie and Sis. Marian Turner dearly. She loved people generously and unconditionally. She was no respecter of persons, believing that all were worthy of respect and kindness. If you entered her circle of family and friends, you were loved.
She passed down to us all the love of God and going to church. She would travel many miles to attend conferences and camp meeting, often taking grandchildren with her and their grandpa. She showed the faithfulness of living for God, and passed down the talent of singing and playing music in church. Any type of gathering for holidays or birthdays was a good time for music and singing.
She loved pretty clothes and fancy shoes. When a beloved niece would come for a visit, they would often swap clothes and shoes because the niece loved pretty clothes and fancy shoes too!
She loved traveling and did… from one side of the country to the other - from Canada to Florida, from Oregon to Mexico. She loved to travel the backroads to see the hidden places of beauty.
