Obituary

Janice Evelyn McGrew Reid passed peacefully from this world on October 3, 2020 at LC nursing center. While she is already missed by so many here, we can only imagine the reunion she's having with her Bud, the love of her life.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM at Topeka Baptist Church in Jayess, MS, with graveside services following in Tilton Cemetery in Jayess, MS. Bro. Eddie Dupre will officiate the services with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Janice, or Maw, as so many knew her, was born August 13, 1939. She leaves behind a family she helped build with her deep love and kindness. She could often be found rocking a little one when she wasn't cooking, sewing or gardening. She loved taking care of others, including hundreds of kids during her years at Topeka Tilton School. She was a member of Topeka Baptist Church where she sat on a pew filled with her family.

In addition to her husband, Delmus "Buddy" Reid, she is greeted in heaven by her parents Edith Griffith and Ernest "Sam" McGrew, her sister, Joyce McGrew Speights, brother in law Alford Speights, brother in law Ray Collins, brother in law Roger Reid, brother in law Bill Crittenden and sister in law, Martha Reid Ibrom.

She leaves behind her daughters and their spouses, Regina and Donnie Stuart and Kim and Jeff Quin.

She was Maw to seven grandchildren and their spouses, Donnie Stuart, Jr and Dana Stuart, Jesse and Christy Stuart, Emily and Scott Nichols, Jacob Stuart, Sam Stuart, Aaron Quin and Olivia Quin. She also adored her 7 great grandchildren and had one on the way. Her little dog Chloe will continue to be spoiled by the grandchildren she passed her love of animals onto.

Her sister Jeweline McGrew Dillon (Charles), sister in law Carolyn Reid and sister in law Jeanette Reid Crittenden are left to miss her but share her stories and memories. She also leaves behind an aunt, Louise Callender and many nieces and nephews.

As much as she loves to clean, we are certain she got straight to work preparing a place for all her loved ones in Heaven. We are all so blessed to know she is healed and we will see her again.
