OBITUARY

James Paul Polk, 58 of Monticello, MS passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024 at the home of his mother-in-law and father-in-law in Jayess, Mississippi. He was born February 7, 1966 in Prentiss, Mississippi.

Services will be held at Wilson Funeral Home chapel on Tuesday, March 19th, 2024 at 2:00 PM, with visitation on Monday evening, March 18th, 2024 beginning at 5:00 PM and ending at 9:00 PM and again on Tuesday morning, March 19th, 2024 from 10:00 AM until the time of service.

Paul spent his time entertaining his friends and family. His hobbies were playing with his big boy toys, fast cars, trucks, motorcycles, and boats. If he wanted it, he was sure to get it. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, fun bets, and living life on the river. He was an over-achiever. His favorite quote was: "I've exceeded my expectations by far." He had a productive career in the oil field that led him to be a successful oil company man with an independent owned company, Polk Consultants.

Paul was preceded in death by his father, James Carl Polk and mother Betty Sue Langston; stepfather, Denny Roy Langston; sister, Melanie Sue Polk.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Shanda Kay, sons: P.J., and Nathan (NaBob); daughter: Katelyn (Ellie Mae); brother, Ricky Polk; granddaughters: Ellie (his "Bug") and Melanie (Mel-Mel); his mother-in-law Minnie Allen, father-in-law Kenneth, an abundance of life long special friends, and his very special friend, Stella (fur baby).
