Funeral services for James Kelly Miller will be on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Calvary Baptist Church in Silver Creek, MS at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the Methodist Cemetery in Silver Creek, MS. Bro. Trey Spangler and Bro. Mike Sutton will be officiating the services with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements, Visitation will be at Wilson Funeral Home on Sunday, April 9, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
Kelly Miller, of Silver Creek, MS, went to be with the Lord on April 7, 2017, at King Daughters Hospital in Brookhaven, MS. He was born on July 14, 1942, in Silver Creek, MS, to John L. and Myrtle Miller.
Mr. Miller worked for what was the branch of First Bank in Silver Creek for over 20 years. He later served as comptroller for the Lawrence County Board of Supervisors for almost 20 years. He was a lifelong resident of Lawrence County, graduating from Silver Creek High School in 1960. Mr. Miller later graduated from Copiah-Lincoln Junior College and Mississippi State University with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He was lifelong sports fan and particularly enjoyed supporting his alma mater. Mr. Miller was a member of Calvary Baptist Church most of his life, serving as chairman of the deacons, Sunday school teacher, treasurer, and in many other capacities for decades
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, John L. Jr., Wayne, and Davis; and two sisters, Connie Lee and Carolyn Lee.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy W. Miller of Silver Creek, son Corey Miller of Brandon, MS, and several nieces and nephews.
