Grave Side services for James David Davenport will be on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Monticello, MS at 10:30A M. Bro. Robbie Britt will be officiating the services with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. James David "Jim" Davenport, 83, of Monticello, MS, passed from this life on Friday, January 11, 2019, at his residence. He was born on October 11, 1935 in Palestine, TX, to Vance A. and Willie Dublin Davenport.

Jim retired from the American Can Company after 37 years of service.

Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters, Jane Norcross, Pat Harris; brother, Kenneth Davenport.

Survivors are his wife of 62 years, Judith Peavy Davenport; sons, Robert Davenport, Joel Davenport and wife Karen; daughter, Jaime Gittinger and husband Phil; brother, Charles Davenport and wife Marjie; 10 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
