Obituary

Obituary for Jackie Lee Stephens

May 8, 1956 – June 17, 2026

Jackie Lee Stephens, age 70, passed away on June 17, 2026. Born on May 8, 1956, Jackie lived a life rooted in faith, family, and friendship.

Jackie was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Tanya Stephens; his stepdaughters, Ashley Bardwell and Angel Allred (husband Brandon Allred), son in law, Lyn Smith (Dorian Schneider); his cherished grandchildren, Lilliann Smith, Trace Allred, Bristol Allred, and Evan Allred; as well as his unofficially adopted son, Kyle Crider, and unofficially adopted daughter, Leona Alexander, all of whom held a special place in his heart.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Perri Stephens; his mother, Daisy Rae Stephens; his father, Victor Stephens; and his daughter, Brandi Stephens.

Jackie’s love for his family and friends was second only to his love for his Lord and Savior. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed spending time in nature and had a deep appreciation for firearms. After retiring as Maintenance Coordinator at Lawrence County Hospital, where he faithfully served for 25 years, Jackie spent his days enjoying life with his wife. When she was at work, he could often be found at the local pawn shop, proudly serving as the “honorary security guard,” where he enjoyed visiting with friends, sharing stories, and keeping up with the latest town happenings.

Jackie will be remembered for his kind heart, his strong faith, his sense of humor, and the genuine joy he found in the company of others. He was a great man who touched many lives and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family has entrusted Wilson Funeral Home with the arrangements. A Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 10 AM. A Celebration of life will follow at Noon. Dr. Adam Wyatt will officiate the ceremony.
