Herbert Wayne Cody, 90, of Monticello was called home from this life on February 12, 2018, at his residence in Monticello, MS. Wayne was born July 17, 1927 in Simpson County, MS to William Marshall and Lula Grubbs Cody.

Visitation will be held on Thursday February 15, 2018 from 5 PM until 9 PM at Monticello Baptist Church in Monticello, MS and continuing Friday February 16, 2018 from 10 AM until service time at 11 AM at Monticello Baptist Church with graveside services following in Monticello Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Tim McCaffrey and Bro. Richard Green will officiate the services, with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Wayne served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He also served in the Merchant Marines. After retirement, he worked many years in security at Georgia Pacific. He was a member of Monticello Baptist Church. He loved to spend time outdoors raising cattle and spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving Wayne is his son Randy Cody and wife Kim of Monticello, 4 grandchildren; Nathan Wayne Cody and wife Angie, Taylor Cody Ballard and husband Michael, Brooks Randall Cody and wife Terra, Katie Grace Cody, sisters Shirley Petkovsek of Natchez, MS, and Marilyn Simmons Shivers, MS, along with 5 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, wife Katie Ruth Cody brother, George Cody.
