Obituary

Ms. Helen Wayne Douglas, 86, of Sontag, MS passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Lawrence County Nursing Center in Monticello, MS. Helen was born August 21, 1933, in Clarksville, Tennessee to Thomas Jefferson and Ethel Nicholson Sanders.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Sontag. Bro. Richard Green and Bro. Jimmy Smith Jr. will officiate the services with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Helen was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a kind-hearted woman who enjoyed gardening, cooking, caring and providing for others. She was an active member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Sontag for over 60 years. Helen enjoyed writing the Sontag News for over 25 years. She was a devout Christian woman, who being strong in her faith, witnessed to all.

Helen is survived by her children, Donald Douglas (Sheila) of Drummonds, Tennessee, Pamela Douglas Foggle of Ruth, Mississippi, Kevin Douglas (Pam) of Sontag, Mississippi; 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; 2 brothers Woody and Billy and 1 sister Grace; numerous nieces and nephews.

Those preceding her in death were her parents, husband Oscar Douglas, son Ronnie Douglas and son in law George Foggle; and 4 brothers Larry, Clayton, Jesse and Dale.
