Mr. Harold Ray Beeson, 87, of Jayess, Mississippi passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021. He was born December 1, 1933 in Lincoln County, Mississippi to Clarence and Cordelia Reid Beeson.
A visitation will be held at Providence Baptist Church in Jayess, Mississippi on Thursday, November 18 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, with funeral services beginning at 1:00 PM. A graveside service will follow in the Providence Cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Harold was a retired veteran of the United States Air Force; his devotion to military service was exemplary. He also served as Captain of the Brookhaven Fire Department. He was a hard worker who was always busy as long as he was able to be. A dedicated member of Providence Baptist Church where he loved to serve – especially in the kitchen and by singing in the choir. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather; he enjoyed spending time with his family camping, fishing, and traveling – especially the family trips to Florida. He was a friend to many, and was known for his smile, laughter, and "his hair." He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Wanda Ann Beeson, along with his children; Rachel McQuade (Jim) of Sacramento, CA, Carrie "Snookie" Winborne (Mike) of Bogue Chitto, MS, Lori Thames (Steve) of Katy, TX, Lyn Foster (Ronnie) of Wesson, MS, William "Billy" Beeson (Stacy) of Magee, MS, Becky King (Stanley) of Jayess, MS, Beth Lawrence McPhail of Jayess, MS, Phyllis Lawrence of Jayess, MS Trisha (Jesse James) Warren of Jayess, MS. Mr. Harold also leaves behind 23 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, and his step-mother, Clara Beeson. Two children, Robin L. Simmons and Phillip "Flip" Lawrence, went before him as well as his six brothers.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to St. Luke's Hospice, especially to his "buddies" Kristy Howse and Samantha Thames Shepherd.
