Gregory Clay Schoonover, 71 of Sontag, MS passed away Friday, June 21, 2024 at his residence in Sontag, MS. He was born Monday, December 22, 1952 in Mississippi.

Graveside services and burial will be held Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 3:00 pm at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Sontag, MS.

Greg was a Vietnam era Navy veteran, earning the rank of E-3 as a Machinist's Mate Class A.  He was always a kind man and loved to talk about interesting finds at estate sales, trade days and swap-meets.  Greg also loved his Savior, Jesus. He loved his community of Sontag and Lawrence county. Greg will be greatly missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Heather Suzanne Schoonover;  father, Robert Clayton Schoonover;  mother, Marguerite (Kitti) Nations Hammer;  sister, Cynthia Beth Schoonover;  step-father, Dr. Robert Hammer.
Survivors include his cousin, Sonya White Cowen of Wesson, MS.
