Terry — Gertie Kennedy Scott, a long-time resident of the Wynndale Community, died Tuesday, the 8th of September at Willow Creek Nursing Center at the age of 89.
Born in 1926 in Oma, MS, Gertie was a retired manicurist. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Terry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Scott, parents Ausby Ray Kennedy and Maggie Leggett Kennedy Hilton, sister Minnie Mae Gibson, and granddaughter Kellane Jones.
She is survived by daughter Beth Jones, grandchildren Paul Jones, Charlotte Stringer (husband Scott) and Melissa Jones, two great grandchildren Sam Stringer and Wesley Stringer, all of Terry, MS, niece Maggie Lena Lea (husband Robert) of Monticello, MS. She also leaves behind a number of nephews and nieces.
Wilson Funeral Home of Monticello, MS has been entrusted with her arrangements. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 9th, 2015 at Lowe Cemetery, Copiah County.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Terry, MS building fund.
