Geraldine Blackwell, 90, of Monticello, Mississippi passed away on May 17, 2026, at her residence in Lawrence County, MS. Geraldine was born on October 23, 1935, in Monticello, MS, to Estus and Mary Smith.

A time of visitation will be held at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel at 904 Thomas E Jolly Dr, Monticello, MS on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 starting at 10 AM.

Funeral services will be conducted at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, May 26 at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery. Bro. Tyler Bridge will Officiate. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Geraldine was an avid gardener. Every spring she would plant vegetables, harvest and can them to feed her family. She also loved flowering plants and nurtured them.

She loved to work with her hands. She crocheted, knitted, embroidered, sewed clothing and quilted. She never let her hands be idle.

She was a homemaker who loved her family. She loved to cook and was always trying new recipes. We could always enjoy a feast during the holidays.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Malcolm Blackwell; her brother, Billy Ray “Bud” Smith.

She is survived by her son, Johnnie Blackwell, her daughters, Yvonne Neal (Joseph), Belinda Pippin (David), and Lisa Blackwell; her sisters, Pat Wilson and Connie Taylor; grandchildren, Steven Blackwell, Angela Brandon, Christopher Pippin, and Jessica Neal; and four great grandchildren.
