Obituary

George Edman "Eddy" Schultz, 80 from Monticello, MS, passed away on May 8, 2018 doing what he loved to do--fish.  A Celebration of Life service will be held at Monticello United Methodist Church on May 12, 2018 at 12:00pm with visitation on this date from 10:00am until 12:00pm. The Reverend Mike Evans is officiating the service.
Eddy was born on March 5, 1938 in Sevierville, TN to George and Mary Dell Schultz. Eddy served in the US Army after graduating from high school. After his honorable discharge, Eddy moved to Athens,TN where he met and fell in love with his future wife Laurell "Lolly" McCamish. Eddy and Lolly were married in 1961. They then began their life as a "mill" family living in Arizona, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Eddy retired from GP Monticello in 2004 as Assistant Superintendent of the Pulp Mill. While at GP, he was a member of the Catfish Cooking Team.
Eddy was well known as an avid fisherman, a legend in many minds and hearts. He was a member of various fishing clubs. Eddy was an avid outdoorsman, gardener, golfer, bowler, and hunter. He was also a great dancer.
Eddy was an active member of Monticello UMC where he was serving as chairman of Pastor Staff Relations and Cemetery Committee. He was also faithful member of the Men's Sunday School Class.
Eddy is survived by a family who he loved and who loved him including his wife of 56 years, Lolly; his children Michael (Emily), Keke (Saundra), Misty (Guy) Tuccio, and Mindy (Pate) Fee; grandchildren Elise, Kiley, Gianna; step grandchildren Hannah and Brady; great grandchildren Mary Alice, Sophia Grace, and Parker; brothers Larry Schultz of Texas and Billy Joe Schultz of Tennessee, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
